The Founders

Two Perspectives Shaped by Fragrance

AL AMBRA PERFUMES was founded in Dubai through a shared appreciation for perfumery rooted in depth, texture, and lasting character.

From the beginning, the house was shaped by two complementary perspectives:
a passion for fragrance craftsmanship and a long-term vision for building a contemporary perfume house inspired by Middle Eastern scent culture.

Today, AL AMBRA PERFUMES reflects both — the emotional pull of fragrance and the quiet discipline required to shape it over time.

Abdul Rahiman Mukarithottam

Founder & Creative Director

Fragrance Creation · Scent Philosophy · Creative Vision

“Fragrance becomes part of memory. Long after a moment passes, scent remains.”

For Abdul Rahiman Mukarithottam, perfumery began long before the creation of the brand itself.

Originally from Kasaragod, Kerala, his early fascination with fragrance was shaped by memory, ritual, and atmosphere — the lingering scent of woods, oils, incense, soft florals, and warm resins woven into everyday life.

After relocating to Dubai, he entered the fragrance retail world, where daily interaction with customers deepened his understanding of how people experience perfume beyond trends or presentation.

He observed how oud, amber, musks, and smoky woods evolved differently in warm climates, and how customers increasingly searched for fragrances with both depth and ease of wear.

What stood out most was the desire for perfumes that felt rich and long-wearing while remaining refined enough for modern life.

That understanding became the beginning of AL AMBRA PERFUMES.

A Creative Language Built Around Scent Evolution

Under Abdul Rahiman’s creative direction, the house developed a fragrance language centered around warmth, texture, and gradual evolution.

Many compositions draw from elements closely associated with Middle Eastern perfumery traditions:

  • Oud woods

  • Amber accords

  • Soft musks

  • Resinous incense

  • Dry spice nuances

  • Leather textures

  • Velvety florals

Rather than relying on immediate intensity alone, the focus remains on how a fragrance unfolds over time — how it opens, settles, softens, and leaves behind a quiet trail on skin.

The approach favors richness without heaviness and longevity without excess.

He remains closely involved in fragrance creation, collection development, and the artistic direction of the house.

Ghanim Yaqoob Jumma Khurram

Co-Founder & Brand Director

Retail Presence · International Presence · Brand Development

“A fragrance house earns trust gradually — through experience, patience, and the way people remember it.”

Ghanim Yaqoob Jumma Khurram joined AL AMBRA PERFUMES during its early years, recognizing the potential behind a fragrance house shaped by cultural depth and contemporary presentation.

What began as a growing perfume concept in Dubai carried something more distinctive beneath the surface — fragrances with warmth, character, and a clear point of view.

He saw the opportunity to help shape the house into a brand capable of growing beyond a single retail presence while preserving the mood and quality that defined it from the beginning.

Building the House with Intention

Ghanim’s contribution focused on developing the brand carefully and intentionally.

Rather than pursuing visibility too quickly, the emphasis remained on creating a lasting foundation through:

  • Selective retail presence

  • Long-term international partnerships

  • Consistent customer experience

  • Measured international presence

This approach allowed AL AMBRA PERFUMES to evolve naturally — from a local fragrance concept into a growing house with customers across the UAE and selected regions around the world.

His work continues to shape the way the house is experienced across retail spaces, partnerships, and customer interactions.

A Shared Philosophy

Together, the founders shaped AL AMBRA PERFUMES around a shared belief:

Fragrance should feel personal, atmospheric, and memorable.

The house continues to draw from the richness of Middle Eastern perfumery while expressing it through a more contemporary lens — one defined less by excess and more by character, craftsmanship, and quiet confidence.

Across oud, amber, musk, woods, florals, spice, and resinous compositions, the intention remains the same:
to create fragrances that feel enduring rather than temporary.

Dubai as an Influence

Dubai remains central to the character of AL AMBRA PERFUMES.

The city’s fragrance culture — layered with oud, incense, warm air, leather, florals, spice, and smoky woods — continues to shape the mood and direction of the collections.

As one of the world’s most dynamic perfume landscapes, Dubai represents both heritage and modernity:
a place where traditional Arabic perfumery naturally coexists with contemporary fragrance culture.

That balance continues to define the spirit of AL AMBRA PERFUMES today.
